Dominic Ohl

I became deeply curious about the nature of consciousness. Along with paying close attention to my own experience, I studied philosophy and spirituality, stoicism, Zen Buddhism, conscious leadership and the coaching masteries of the International Association of Coaching (IAC).

The shift I experienced as a result of the inner exploration I was doing was so meaningful to me that I wanted to share it with the world. I published a guided journal born from the questions that helped me slow down, get honest with myself, and reconnect with what really matters to me.

I have since been on a mission to support others to slow down, take a breath and look inward towards the truth of their experience.

Clarity begins with curiosity and I would be honored to start asking those important questions with you.

Before I became a coach, I was the coordinator of VIATEC’s accelerator program, where we supported nearly a hundred entrepreneurs in launching their tech startups. All during that time, I was working alongside experienced entrepreneurs, coaches and leaders. They supported me to participate in my first coaching training program. That exposure sparked my fascination with how people grow, change, and step into their potential, and eventually led me here.

My dad, Phil, started The Leader’s Edge in 1999. Right around when he started coaching me and my friends to play basketball. I didn’t realize it at the time, but he was teaching our group of 10-year-olds many of the same principles of high-performance that we use in our coaching today.

If you asked that kid what he would be doing 20 years later, the answer certainly would not have been coaching with his dad. He probably would have said NBA player or video game tester.

I had the privilege of taking some time off after VIATEC. I bought a big tent and lived on Hornby Island for the summer. All I brought with me were my books, journals and skimboard. It was the first time I truly met myself. I thought I would become a writer. Through reading, reflecting, meditating and writing about life, my self-awareness exploded.
